24/09 :  SGP 2007 Results

   Congratulations to Peter Gray & Simon Forbes (Fireball) who were first overall and won a Superspars mast.

2nd Overall were Daren Fasey and Colin Davis (Fireball) who won a Superspars boom.

Viola Scott in a Osprey won the Sailing Shirts Women's Trophy (6th overall) who narrowly won from Imogen Carpenter in a Laser II.

Peter Helm & Sam Potter in a Laser II had line honours in the Pursuit race. In the 5 handicap races line hours went to the 505s in races 2, 4 and 5 and to the FDs in races 3 and 6.

The Osprey Class convincingly won the Team Prize with a total of 259 points counting the best results of their top 5 boats in each race. The 505s 2nd with 402 points. None of the other classes managed to muster a team of 5 boats.

A total of 30 entries enjoyed a superb weekend with a wide variety of sailing conditions (light winds saturday and blustery strong winds on Sunday) with a mixture of course layouts

At the prizegiving a large number of prizes geneourosly provided by Hyde Sails, Harken and Craftinsure were distributed to all sections of the fleet.

There was a resounding endorsement by competitors at the event for the SGP to continue in its current format at Rutland
